Fillion posted a short video on his Instagram featuring Jewel Staite, who played mechanic Kaylee Frye on the cult sci-fi series. In the clip, Fillion walks up and knocks on her door.
“Jewel,” he says.
Staite responds, “Wait, are we?”
Fillion replies, “Yes we are.”
Staite then says, “Shiny.”
Fillion closes it out with, “I was hoping you’d say that.”
The caption on the post adds: “I was hoping you would say that … an announcement is coming on Sunday, March 15.”
MacFarlane confirmed to THR that Hulu is ready to move forward on a fourth season of The Orville. “The 10 scripts are done,” he said. “I’m the problem. It’s [a matter of] when I can make that my year, with all the other stuff we have in the works. But we can hit the ground running when it happens.”

Firefly is coming back, this time as an animated series.
Nathan Fillion revealed at Awesome Con that an animated Firefly series is in advanced development, and Deadline reports the project is already packaged with showrunners and a completed script.
Original cast expected to return
Fillion made the announcement during a panel and live taping of his Once We Were Spacemen podcast alongside Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin, Sean Maher, and Summer Glau. All are expected to reprise their roles.
Adam Baldwin is also expected to return as the voice of Jayne Cobb.
Who is making it and who is not involved
The animated reboot is being developed through Fillion’s production banner Collision33 in partnership with 20th Television Animation, which controls the underlying rights.
Marc Guggenheim and Tara Butters are attached as showrunners, and a script has been completed.
Joss Whedon, who created the original series, is not involved in the animated project.
When it takes place in the Firefly timeline
The proposed series is set between the original 2002 TV run and the 2005 film Serenity. The idea is to expand the universe while keeping continuity with the established story.

La original fue medio gradual. Y a Willow la hicieron lesbo en no recuerdo que temporada, antes era hetero.
No recuerdo la cazadora negra, en mi mente, sacando el final donde hay mil, solo eran Buffy y Faith, ambas blancas. Y Faith había tenido romance interracial con un negro, creo que era con ese que dijiste.
Pero protagonistas de verdad, creo que eran todos blancos. Buffy, Angel, Spike, Willow, Anya, Xander, Giles, Dawn, Cordelia, Oz, Tara…

en esa epoca estaban todos enclosetados y te metieron 2 protagonistas lesbianas y es el arco de uno de los 3 “personajes principales” de la serie porque angel y spike van y vienen
los 3 que estuvieron siempre son buffy, xander y willow. Y willow pasa de heroe a villano con un arco bastante bien llevado
de hecho el heroe de la recuperacion de willow no es buffy con el poder
Los LGBT siempre estan sobrerepresentados, especialmente en los grupos de protagonistas. Es totalmente improbable que cualquier grupo de amigos o trabajo, de 5, o 10 personas, haya un gay o mas. La enorme mayoría de grupos de amigos, no tiene un LGBT, o ni siquiera conoce a alguno.
¿Angel y Spike que?. No recuerdo nada de ellos Bi.
Si fueron protagonistas. Angel hasta que le dieron el spin-off.
Spike arranco como villano “gracioso” que aparecía de vez en cuando, hasta terminar siendo protagonista y héroe.
Los 3 que nombras + Dawn, fueron los que se mantuvieron desde la 1ra temporada. Pero por ejemplo Spike termino siendo mas importante que Xander.
