El Manchester United la tenía difícil ante el Everton. Pero a tres minutos del final, Peinaar cometió un penal infantil y Cristiano Ronaldo (también hizo el primero) le dio el triunfo al equipo de Tevez, quien buscó siempre pero no pudo. Los de Alex Ferguson quedaron a un punto del líder Arsenal.

El Manchester United consiguió un agónico triunfo por 2-1 ante el Everton, como local. Los goles del equipo de Alex Ferguson fueron convertidos por el portugués Cristiano Ronaldo, mientras que Cahill había marcado el empate transitorio.
No fue para nada sencillo el partido para los Diablos Rojos. Recién pudieron abrir el marcador con una genialidad de Cristiano Ronaldo, cuando se jugaban 22 minutos del primer tiempo. Pero enseguida, la visita consiguió la igualdad con un gran cabezazo del australiano.
Cuando el partido se moría y todo parecía conducir al empate, Giggs encaró en el área y el sudafricano Piennar le cometió un claro e infantil penal que le abrió la chance al local para definir el partido. Cristiano Ronaldo no la desperdició y su equipo se quedó con los tres puntos en el bolsillo.
Con esta victoria, el Manchester United sumó 42 unidades –tras 18 fechas disputadas- y quedó a un punto del líder Arsenal, que ayer venció por 2-1 al Tottenham y se afirmó en lo más alto del fútbol inglés.
Partidazo Aston Villa- Chelsea: 4-4, 3 expulsados , 2 penales, 2 goles en los ultimos 2 minutos… si estubieramos en Futbol de primera Varsky diria que es el partido de la fecha.

Hernan, estaba leyendo un articulo y decia que el unico club del Norte de Londres son los Spurs, porque el Arsenal tuvo su origen en WOolwich o una mierda asi, al sureste de londres… y que los del arsenal eran como una especie de “nomadas” porque nunca tenian una cancha fija… se mudaban de highbury, woolwich etc…
Tambien decia que el T’ham tenia el juego mas vistoso de Inglaterra en los 60/70 y que el juego del Arsenal era aburrido pero ganaban siempre en los 90…
Entonces el T’ham no es tan chico como lo pintan o parece??
Y que el Arsenal siempre quiso imitar al Tottenham… porque el Tottenham gano todo antes que el Arsenal lo hiciera…
Y todos los del Tottenham putean y odian a Sol Campbell (?)

No es que lo pintan chico. Pregunta a los ingleses y vas a ver que no lo consideran chico. Lo que pasa que a argentina llegan los ultimos campeones. De el resto no se sabe nada. O se sabe del West Ham por Tevez.
El Tottenham fue el primer equipo no afiliado en ganar la FA Cup en los comienzos. Tambien fue el primer club ingles en ganar una copa europea. En los 50/60/70 fueron dirigidos por un tipo (Bill Nicholson creo) que jugaba futbol “champagne”, al mejor estilo brasil y sus 4 enganches. Los partidos salian en goleadas. El primer partido que dirigio salio 10-4. Cuando se retiro este tipo, empezo la decadencia del club en cuanto a lo futbolistico. Malas compras, mal manejo del club, etc. Igualmente sigue siendo el club mas popular de Londres. Lo del Arsenal querrer imitar al Tottenham no te sabria decir. Solo se que el club y la hinchada siempre priorizo el buen juego, contrario al Liverpool que exigia huevo. Y aun ahora todavia es asi. Yo me meto en foros, y por ejemplo ayer se gano 5-1, pero los tipos se quejaban de que no se jugo bien.
Lo de Sol Campbell es por lo siguiente. Salio de las inferiores del Tottenham. Por varios años fue el capitan y lider de la defensa. Juro y rejuro que le era fiel al club y que nunca se iria. Despues que el club rechazara una oferta de 18M del Manchester por el, no se le ocurrio mejor idea de que al año siguiente no renovar el contrato, y se fue al Arsenal gratis.

That prompted furious fans to hang an effigy of the England international from a lamppost outside the Park Lane end of their ground and instigate arguably one of the most intense hatreds in modern football.
When Campbell first returned to Tottenham as an Arsenal player the Gunners team coach was attacked by supporters throwing bottles and bricks as police struggled to maintain order and he has been Public Enemy No.1 in N17 ever since.

Going abroad is not in my mind. the ball is in Spurs’ court now. I am in no hurry because I want to look at the whole picture. We will just have to wait and see what happens in the next two or three weeks - May 21, 2001.
