mira tengo conocidos q viven en EEUU, en las escuelas q van los hijos implementaron el futbol como deporte y la MLS puso miles de escuelas x todo el pais. Logicamente el futbol no va a ser mas popular q el beisbol, basquet, futbol americano, hockey sobre hielo… pq son deportes q hace 100 años los yankees lo practican, pero cada vez se nota mas su crecimiento ---

Claro, es difícil que enganchen, especialmente porque lo que el latinoamericano y europeo encuentra en el fútbol ya lo encuentran en el basquetbol (los dribles para humillar a alguien, el poder jugar donde sea). Pero el afroamericano también se guía mucho por lo que está “hip” o “trendy”, ya tipos como Drake han metido mucho de fútbol en algunos vídeos, el FIFA es un juego que gusta mucho entre el afroamericano (que parecerá una boludes, pero muchos sí luego ven el deporte para conocer a los jugadores de verdad). Nunca será el deporte más popular en los suburbios, pero tampoco necesita serlo… sólo necesita que lo empiecen a ver como opción. Ahí sí les queda un poco mal la NCAA, porque las becas en fútbol no son muy atractivas… pero a la vez pueden ver ejemplos de jóvenes como Davies o Pulisic que se saltaron el sistema colegial para empezar a ganar dinero como profesionales desde adolescentes… ese es un camino que no ven mucho en el fútbol americano o el basquetbol y para la clase media baja puede ser determinante. ---

Mi viejo vivio en EEUU cuando estuvo el mundial 94, el 90% de los yankees no estaba enterado que se jugaba el mundial en su pais, menos conocian a Maradona ---
