Hay que tener en cuenta que en África juegan generalmente los que no les dio el cuero para Europa o jugadores que están de vuelta. Mohamed Aboutrika, uno de los ídolos de Al-Ahly, estuvo casi toda su carrera en ese club, salvo un pequeño paso el Baniyas de EAU (donde jugó Trezeguet, por ejemplo). Es cuestión de ver los plantes de las selecciones africanas en Mundiales, donde sucede algo bastante similar a las selecciones sudamericanas. El grueso de sus equipos está en Europa, con algunos esparcidos por Asia y algún que otro rezagado jugando en liga local, generalmente juveniles en este último caso. ---
